Bishkek, Nov. 10, 2017. / Kabar/. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldayev met on Thursday in Samarkand, Uzbekistan with the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the regional agenda, as well as touched upon the cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with the UN. In particular, Abdyldaev informed about the interaction between the states of Central Asia, about the last presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic and stressed the importance of further continuation of interaction with the UN, taking into account the opinion of the Kyrgyz side.
In his turn, Miroslav Jenča congratulated on holding open and fair elections in Kyrgyzstan. He agreed with the opinion on the need to take into account the interests of the UN member states and, therefore, assured the readiness of the new Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia to work aimed at promoting dialogue between the countries of the region.
The meeting was held within the framework of the participation of the delegation of Kyrgyzstan in the work of the International High-Level Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Central Asia under the auspices of the United Nations.
