Bishkek, Feb. 19, 2018 / Kabar/. EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Ambassador Peter Burian arrived in Kyrgyzstan for three-day official visit, the Press and Information Office of the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the visit, Peter Burian will meet with President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev, Central Election Commission chairwoman Nurzhan Shayldabekova, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh and representatives of civil society.
The sides will discuss cooperation between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic in various fields, as well as the situation in Central Asia.
In addition, Peter Burian will take part in the seminar entitled "Relations between the EU and Central Asia from the point of view of Kyrgyzstan", organized in Bishkek by the European Union in conjunction with the authorities of the republic. The event will bring together representatives of state bodies, civil society, business associations, international organizations, diplomatic missions, experts and analysts.
The seminar is organized to discuss future relations between the EU and Kyrgyzstan and cooperation in Central Asia. The results of the discussion will be taken into account when developing a new European Union strategy for Central Asia.
