Kyrgyzstan elected to Intergovernmental Council of UNESCO International Program for Development of Communication

Bishkek, Nov. 10, 2017. / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is elected to the Intergovernmental Council of the UNESCO International Program for the Development of Communication on November 9, 2017, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

As previously reported, the Kyrgyz delegation takes an active part in the work of the 39th session of the UNESCO General Conference, within the framework of which bilateral meetings were held with the heads of delegations of Guinea, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Cameroon, Nepal and other countries. In particular, the issue of cooperation within UNESCO and the possibility of educational exchanges were discussed with the Deputy Minister of Education of Guinea.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova also met with Director of the Department of Water Sciences, Secretary of the UNESCO International Hydrological Program Blanka Jimenez-Cisneros and Head of the Sector on Hydrological Systems and Water Supply Abu Amani.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNESCO in the field of training national personnel in water sciences, upgrading the skills of specialists from the Kyrgyz Republic at courses and through UNESCO projects in the field of water cooperation.
