Bishkek, Nov. 8, 2017. /Kabar/. A delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova, taking part in the 39th session of the General Conference of UNESCO.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry reported that, on the eve, November 6, Kemelova delivered a speech at the plenary session. In her speech, the head of the Kyrgyz delegation asked UNESCO member states to support the initiatives and projects of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of education and culture and information technologies, including the preservation of the nomadic and Altai civilization, the promotion of the Taza Koom project, the holding of jubilee events dedicated to great writer Chingiz Aitmatov, as well as environmental protection.
As part of the nomination of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee and the election of the Kyrgyz NGO Aigine to the Evaluation Body of the Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, Kemelova held talks with Prime Minister of the Cook Islands, Vice Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, the Ministers of Bangladesh, Malaysia and China, as well as the heads of delegations of Turkey, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, Nepal, Austria, Colombia and Guatemala.
Also, the Kyrgyz Deputy Minister met with head of the Asia-Pacific sector of the External Relations and Information Department of the UNESCO Secretariat, Andrei Shevelyov, where the parties discussed possible projects in the field of education, culture, tourism promotion, information technologies and water resources use.
