Kyrgyzstan ready for mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkey in all areas

Bishkek, Apr. 5, 2018 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov met with Turkish Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Cengiz Kamil Firat. The Speaker congratulated the diplomat on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.

Dzhumabekov also noted the rich diplomatic experience of the appointed ambassador and expressed the opinion that Cengis Kamil Firat’s work as the Ambassador of Turkey in Kyrgyzstan will open a new page in bilateral relations between our countries.

"There is much in common between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, in particular, the ancient common history, the similarity of languages, and the fact that our peoples are fraternal. Our country is ready for mutually beneficial and equitable cooperation in all areas. Many of them are actively working. In particular, close cooperation has been established between the parliaments of our countries, especially through the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries, "Dzhumabekov said.

He also stressed that Turkey is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. Dzhumabekov said the need to further enhance bilateral economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Ambassador Cengis Kamil Firat stressed the readiness to do everything necessary for the further development of cooperation between the countries.

The diplomat stressed that the trade turnover between the two countries is $ 400 million, but the Turkish side hopes that in the near future this amount will reach $ 1 billion. Moreover, Turkey intends to continue investing in Kyrgyzstan.

Cengis Kamil Firat also noted that Turkey is preparing for the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov and expect that during this visit a positive exchange of views will take place.

At the end of the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador invited the Kyrgyz Speaker to pay an official visit to Turkey.
