Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2019. /Kabar/. In January of this year, students of the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum were invited to the National Cadet Corps for the Republic Day of India within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Exchange of Experience among Young People between the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum and the National Cadet Corps of the Republic of India, the press service of the State Committee on Defense Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
“Two weeks our military lyceum students stayed in India have been fruitful. As part of the cultural program, they visited museums, ancient fortresses and memorial complexes in various regions of the country, where they became acquainted with the historical heritage of the Indian people,” the press service noted.
Visit to one of the eight wonders of the world – the architectural memorial complex Taj Mahal, located in Agra, on the banks of the Yamuna River, as well as Albert Hall Museum, which mainly displays ancient weapons and ammunition left a lasting impression on the children.
During the trip, the students of the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum met their peer cadets from Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Singapore, the Maldives, Russia and Kazakhstan. More than a hundred participants of this camp were trained in martial training for the parade timed to the Independence Day of India with the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman – the first woman to take up such a high post in the government, and a number of other high-ranking officers of the Indian Army and navy.
In honor of cadets from different countries, dinner parties were organized at the residence of the Prime Minister of India, the Minister of Defense and the Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Indian cadets prepared an equestrian and musical show for their peers. The demonstration of such events is carried out by the structural units of the NCC, whose main curriculum specializes in training specialists of this class for the needs of the army and navy. The structure of the NCC includes hundreds of divisions throughout India, in which hundreds of thousands of young men and women are trained. The current Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also a graduate of such a cadet corps. As noted above, the main event of the trip was participation of our high school students in a military parade in New Delhi on the occasion of the Indian Independence Day.
Meetings and trips of young cadets through the exchange program have already become traditional – for example, in October last year, Indian cadets came to Kyrgyzstan on a familiarization trip and the parties were determined to continue to actively develop cooperation.
