Kyrgyz delegation takes part in UPR of Egypt

Bishkek, Jan. 30, 2025. /Kabar/. As part of the 48th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the UN Human Rights Council, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN in Geneva Omar Sultanov took part in the UPR of Egypt on January 28, 2025.

The Kyrgyz ambassador warmly welcomed the Egyptian delegation led by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti and praised their commitment to the UPR process. In his speech, Ambassador Sultanov emphasized Egypt's significant successes in protecting and promoting human rights, noting the country's efforts to ensure gender equality, as well as the implementation of initiatives to improve working conditions and social protection of citizens.

The Universal Periodic Review is a special mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council, within the framework of which each of the UN member states is regularly reviewed every four years on the implementation of human rights obligations.
