Kyrgyz film to be released in Malaysia and other countries of South-East Asia

Bishkek, Jan. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. A test screening of the film “Beyish - enenin tamanynda” (“Paradise at Mothers' Feet”) by Kyrgyz director Ruslan Akun was organized in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that as part of the screening, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Malaysia Anvar Anarbaev met with Malaysian distribution company ATriNaga, holder of the distribution rights to the film in Malaysia. Representatives of the production team of director Ruslan Akun also attended the meeting.

The film will be screened in all major cities of Malaysia starting February 13, 2025, according to ATriNaga. The movie will be released in Kyrgyz, with subtitles in Malay and English.

In addition, ATriNaga will launch the film in Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei throughout February and March 2025.

The upcoming screening of “Beyish - enenin tamanynda” in Malaysia and other countries in the region will be the first-ever release of a Kyrgyz film in Southeast Asia.

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia is providing informational assistance in promoting the movie.
