Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2025. /Kabar/. Member of the Kyrgyz Parliament Suyunbek Omurzakov called on the Austrian organization Freedom For Eurasia not to interfere in the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
"On January 26, presidential elections were held in the Republic of Belarus. The chairperson of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic and members of the Jogorku Kenesh took part in the monitoring of the presidential elections in Belarus as part of the international observer missions. However, Freedom For Eurasia issued its statement, in which it notes these actions as "disregard for democratic principles and international norms." Thus, this organization assesses our international relations. I regard this as interference in the domestic policy of the country. This is unacceptable. The policy of Kyrgyzstan is determined by the head of state and the people,” said Suyunbek Omurzakov, emphasizing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic needs to respond to this statement.
Freedom For Eurasia in its statement called to impose sanctions against Kyrgyz officials who participated in monitoring the presidential elections in Belarus.
