The event is attended by representatives of statistical agencies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
During four days, participants will gain practical skills in working with SDMX, which will strengthen the integration of data, ensure their comparability and improve the effectiveness of SDG monitoring.
In his welcoming speech, the chairman of the National Statistics Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov emphasized the importance of timely, high-quality and comparable data for making informed decisions in the field of sustainable development. He noted that the implementation of SDMX plays a key role in unifying statistical exchange between countries and international organizations, contributing to the development of a unified approach to monitoring the SDGs.
Representatives of countries will exchange experiences, present best practices and discuss prospects for regional cooperation in the field of statistics, the statement said.
SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange) is an international standard for the exchange of statistical data and metadata between countries and national statistical agencies. It standardizes the data exchange process, making them more efficient, faster and more transparent. This standard is especially important for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals, since each country must provide data that is easily integrated into the global monitoring system.
