Kyrgyzstan, Iran discuss prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation

Bishkek, Jan. 30, 2025 . / Kabar / . Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Turdakun Sydykov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade - Head of Trade Promote Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of trade and economic and investment cooperation, export-import relations, as well as considered ways to increase the level of trade turnover between the two countries.

The Kyrgyz ambassador proposed to develop a joint action plan, including for the implementation of the Protocol of the 13th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Kyrgyzstan and Iran, signed in Bishkek in October 2023.

He drew attention to the need to accelerate the work on the establishment of trade houses in Bishkek and Tehran, organization of mutual exhibitions of export products of the two countries and invited Iranian companies to participate in the implementation of various investment projects, to open joint ventures and production lines in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi supported the proposals of the Kyrgyz side and expressed readiness to assist in establishing direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, as well as the participation of business delegations, entrepreneurs and companies of Kyrgyzstan in various international trade exhibitions held in Tehran.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to make joint efforts to develop trade and economic cooperation and increase the level of mutual trade between the two countries.
