Nameless mountain in Kyrgyzstan named UN Peak

Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2025. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov signed the Law "On assigning the geographical name "United Nations Peak" to the nameless mountain peak with a height of 5576 meters, located in the area of ​​the South Inilchek glacier of the Sary-Dzhaz ridge of Tien Shan.

The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on December 25, 2024.

The purpose of the law is to strengthen and develop relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Nations (UN), taking into account the state interests of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In accordance with UN General Assembly (GA) resolution 46/225, the Kyrgyz Republic joined the UN on March 2, 1992.

The goal of the UN system in Kyrgyzstan is to assist in the implementation of development reforms and to support the achievement of internationally agreed sustainable development goals.
