Bishkek, Jan.29, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held a working meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov, his press service reported.
The internal minister informed about the current operational situation in the country, measures to ensure public order and implementation of reforms in law enforcement agencies. Special attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the safety of citizens, effective response to emergencies and prevention of offenses.
According to the information provided by Ulan Niyazbekov, despite the fact that 93% of crimes in the country are registered by the internal affairs bodies, it has been possible to reduce the crime rate by almost 69% over the past four years.
He also said that in order to ensure the safety of citizens and successful fulfillment of the set tasks, measures have been developed for the current year. Among them are the creation of a system of digital police and the implementation of the “Safe Country” project, the continuation of construction works within the framework of strengthening operational and service activities, strengthening the fight against crime and delinquency, improving the quality of services to the population, strengthening the material and technical base, as well as taking measures to prevent family violence and prevent acts of violence.
The president stressed the need to increase the professionalism of internal affairs officers, modernize the material and technical base of the agency and improve interaction with the population.
The Kyrgyz leader also emphasized the importance of countering illegal drug trafficking, strengthening measures to prevent offenses, fighting crime, as well as maintaining law and order at a high level.
At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov gave a number of instructions to the minister aimed at strengthening public security, developing the infrastructure of the agency and further improving the system of personnel training.
