Bishkek, Jan. 27, 2025 . /Kabar / . Chairwoman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) of Kyrgyzstan Nurzhan Shaildabekova, as well as CEC members Abdyzhapar Bekmatov and Meikinbek Abdaliyev took part in the monitoring of the presidential election in Belarus as part of the CIS and SCO observation missions. This is reported by the press service of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The press service of the CEC reported that deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh also attended the process of the presidential elections within the IPA CIS missions.
On the eve of the elections the observers participated in the ceremony of launching the information center and press conference of Chairman of the Belarusian CEC Igor Karpenko.
During a meeting with Igor Karpenko, the delegation of Kyrgyzstan discussed the issues of preparation and conduct of elections, work of election commissions, participation of international and local observers.
Chairwoman of the Kyrgyz CEC Nurzhan Shaildabekova noted that a set of preparatory measures had been systematically implemented at the presidential election to create conditions for the full realization of the electoral rights of citizens, both voters and candidates.
More than 6.9 Belarusians are included in the voter lists. In early voting on Jan. 21-25, 41.81% of voters participated. A total of 486 international observers were accredited to participate in election monitoring.
The presidential elections of Belarus were scheduled in October 2024 with five candidates running for the post:
Alexander Lukashenko - the incumbent head of state;
Oleg Gaidukevich - Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus;
Alexander Khizhnyak - Leader of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice;
Sergei Syrankov - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus;
Anna Kanopatskaya - ex-candidate in the previous elections, entrepreneur, non-partisan.
