Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2025 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met today with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Beijing.
According to the presidential press service, the heads of the two states held a broad exchange of views on Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, deepening comprehensive and equal cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The parties highly appreciated the results of the development of bilateral relations since the signing of the Joint Declaration of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for a New Era in May 2023, unanimously agreed to use this as a basis for further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China, and reaffirmed their desire to maintain regional stability and development for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries. Chairman Xi Jinping noted that traditionally in China, the entire first month of the lunar calendar is considered a holiday. He emphasized that President Sadyr Zhaparov is the first foreign leader he receives during the Spring Festival.
"China and Kyrgyzstan are united not only by strong ties, but also by close rapprochement of peoples. Our relations have reached a breakthrough level of comprehensive strategic partnership. Political dialogue based on trust is strengthening between our countries," Xi Jinping noted.
He emphasized that during the presidency of the Kyrgyz leader, the country has demonstrated stable development and achieved significant success. The Chinese president expressed confidence that Kyrgyzstan, under the leadership of Sadyr Zhaparov, has chosen an independent and original development path that meets its national interests.
President Sadyr Zhaparov sincerely congratulated the Chinese leader, as well as all the friendly Chinese people on the Spring Festival - Chunjie. He emphasized that this holiday, filled with the warmth of family gatherings, is a vivid symbol of the rich and multifaceted culture of China.
The president of Kyrgyzstan warmly recalled his first foreign visit to China 3 years ago with the Chairman of the PRC, emphasizing that he was pleased to find in him a reliable friend of Kyrgyzstan. Analyzing the development of bilateral relations over the past three years, he noted with satisfaction that many visits and joint events have been held at the level of heads of parliaments, governments and ministries.
Sadyr Zhaparov especially emphasized the successful interregional cooperation, which has already begun to bear good fruit. In different regions of the country, factories are being built in the shortest possible time, joint ventures are being opened, projects are being launched in the fields of trade, mechanical engineering, logistics, transport and e-commerce. He noted that the heads of regions arrived in China with him, which underlines the readiness to further deepen interregional cooperation.
The president of Kyrgyzstan also highly appreciated the One Belt, One Road initiative, based on equal and mutually beneficial partnership. Sadyr Zhaparov confirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to participate in the implementation of even larger-scale projects within the framework of this initiative.
Sadyr Zhaparov also confirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to China's initiatives on Global Development, Global Security and Global Civilization, noting their contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and maintaining security in the world.
The president of Kyrgyzstan noted that, at the initiative of the Chairman of the PRC, a new format of regional cooperation China - Central Asia was created, and expressed support for the proposal to establish its Secretariat, emphasizing Kyrgyzstan's readiness to contribute to its work.
