Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2025. /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov received head of the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ambassador Marilyn Josefson, in connection with the completion of her diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.
The presidential press service reported that the head of state noted the significant contribution of Marilyn Josefson to strengthening the Kyrgyz-European partnership, emphasizing that thanks to joint efforts, cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union has reached a new level.
"Your initiatives aimed at the comprehensive development of interaction between our countries, as well as your activities to strengthen social, economic and cultural ties have led to significant successes," Sadyr Zhaparov said.
He emphasized that the European Union is a reliable and important partner for Kyrgyzstan, and the last two years have been particularly productive in developing bilateral and interregional cooperation.
Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Kyrgyzstan, Ambassador Marilyn Yosefson, noted the personal contribution of President Sadyr Zhaparov to strengthening cooperation and emphasized that thanks to his leadership, Kyrgyz-European relations have reached a new level.
She noted that, despite geopolitical challenges, Kyrgyzstan demonstrates a balanced and pragmatic approach to international relations.
"I would like to draw attention to one important aspect. Kyrgyzstan is a small country, and in geopolitical terms, it has to make a lot of effort. Despite this, the republic has managed to build strong relations with its neighbors and leading world powers. This is a valuable experience that we should learn from," said Marilyn Yosefson and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of bilateral partnership.
“Remember that you have a reliable friend in Brussels,” she added, assuring that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the EU will continue to develop on the principles of mutual respect and trust.
