Bishkek, March 3, 2025. /Kabar/. As of January 1, 2025, 14 thousand 323 cases of HIV have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, the country’s Minister of Health Erkin Checheibaev told at a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy.

He said that 3581 patients died. “Since 2023, we have begun to use new capillary methods of express testing. In 2023, 12 thousand 208 people were tested, of which 92 people were diagnosed with HIV. In 2024, 16 thousand 835 people were tested and 92 were diagnosed with HIV. Since 2023, a self-testing method has been introduced. Since 2016, mobile clinical bases in mountainous regions have been testing four diseases at the same time, where about 40 thousand citizens are tested every year,” the official said.
