Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2026 /Kabar/. Ahead of the International Day of Older Persons, Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, visited citizens aged 100 and older living in Bishkek.
According to data of the Social Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic, there are currently 178 citizens aged 100 or older living in the country. Of these, 21 reside in Bishkek.
As part of the event, Daniyar Amangeldiev visited Kichikan Cholieva, Burul Duyshalieva, and Efrosinya Sokolova. On behalf of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, gifts and financial assistance were presented to the elderly women.
During the meetings, conversations took place regarding the life stories of these women from the older generation, their contributions through work and civic engagement, and their role in upholding family and moral values.
Daniyar Amangeldiev expressed respect and gratitude to the older generation, emphasizing the importance of attending to their needs and ensuring dignified living conditions.
Caring for the older generation, upholding their social rights, and creating conditions for a dignified life are key priorities of the state's social policy.
The International Day of Older Persons is observed annually on October 1. This day aims to draw attention to issues concerning support for the older generation, the protection of their rights and interests, and the recognition of their contributions to the development of society.
