Bishkek, Aug 5, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov received the Japanese government's JDS project scholars, state and municipal employees of Kyrgyzstan who are going to study in Japan.
In the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ulan Mamatkanov said that the state will build its future based on education, human capital and responsible governance. He thanked the Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) for their cooperation in this direction, noting that such constant support and cooperation have created new opportunities and further strengthened relations between the two peoples.
“We are building the future of the state through educated, professional and responsible personnel. In recent years, the modernization of public administration, the widespread introduction of digital technologies, improving the quality of public service and training professional personnel have become one of the priority areas of our country. I am confident that today's JDS program finalists will be representatives of a new generation that will implement this state policy, the development directions of our country and confidence in its future.
Recently, Kyrgyzstan and Japan signed another important agreement on the continuation of the JDS program, and a grant in the amount of 381 million yen was allocated for this purpose. This grant is an investment in the education of our civil servants, future leadership and the development of the public administration system of Kyrgyzstan. The greatest honor for the state is when an educated citizen returns to his homeland and serves his people,” said Ulan Mamatkanov.
As is known, this year, 20 scholarship holders from state and municipal employees of Kyrgyzstan are going to study in Japan for 19 master's degrees and 1 doctoral degree.
In total, through this program, which has been implemented since 2006, more than 300 state and municipal employees have had the opportunity to study in Japan.
