Bishkek, Aug 3, 2026 /Kabar/. In 2024-2025, 39 children were returned to Kyrgyzstan from Russia. Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Aida Isatbek kyzy announced at meeting of the National Council in Yntymak Ordo.
The deputy minister provided information on the ongoing efforts to repatriate and support children left without the care of legal guardians.
According to her, some of them were returned to their biological parents, while the rest were placed into guardianship and adoption.
"In 2024, 21 children were returned from Russia to Kyrgyzstan: 16 of them were returned to their biological parents, and five were adopted. In 2025, another 18 children were returned to their homeland, 14 of whom were returned to their biological parents, and four were adopted.
All returned children undergo social and psychological rehabilitation and are registered in the appropriate database. Two million soms are allocated annually from the state budget for this work," she said.
