Bishkek, March 31, 2026. /Kabar/. The 5th Meeting of the Heads of Space Agencies of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on 30 March 2026 in Tashkent, bringing together high-level representatives from the Member States and Observers to further strengthen strategic cooperation on space.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, emphasized that cooperation in the space area has become an important pillar of integration within the Turkic World. He highlighted the steady progress achieved under the 12U OTS-SAT Cube Satellite Project, noting that the initiative reflects the collective capacity, technical expertise, and shared vision of the participating countries.

The Heads of Space Agencies reviewed the final stages of the satellite’s manufacturing process and exchanged views on its launch. They reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the successful completion and operation of the project as a flagship example of joint innovation.

The meeting also addressed the finalization of the draft “Space Industrial Agreement for Capacity Development of Collaboration within the OTS,” aimed at establishing a structured and forward-looking framework for cooperation in space industry, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

Participants further discussed cooperation in education and capacity-building, including the continued development of the Turkic Space Explorers Academy, which has already engaged more than 170 students from across the Member States and Observers.

The Parties also considered initiatives to organize Turkic World Space Days within major international events, with a view to enhancing the visibility and impact of OTS cooperation on the global stage.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to deepening collaboration, strengthening institutional ties, and promoting innovation-driven development in the space sector across the Turkic World.
