Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2026. /Kabar/. Ministry of Energy presented the implementation of renewable energy projects in Kyrgyzstan at Jogorku Kenesh Committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction.
Minister Taalaibek Ibraev reported that 13 investment agreements have been signed to date for the construction of wind and solar power plants with a total capacity of 650 MW, and several large projects are in the development stage.
"On December 24, 2025, a 100 MW power plant was commissioned in Kemin district of Chui region. Additionally, a Vietnamese company has begun construction of a 1900 MW solar power plant on a 2,116-hectare site. Unigrin company plans to commission an additional 300 MW in 2026. Rosatom to launch 100 MW wind farm" he said.
The minister noted that all renewable energy projects contribute to the diversification of the country's energy sector, increased energy efficiency, and the strengthening of clean electricity production in Kyrgyzstan.
