Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2025 /Kabar/. 80 percent of the country's roads are being built at the expense of the state budget, Ministry of Transport and Communications reports.
As reported, with the support of President Sadyr Zhaparov, the amount of funds allocated from the budget for the road transport sector has increased, and the construction of large projects is underway. The construction of the Barskoon-Bedel road of national importance will start soon. The construction of this mega project, which is envisaged as a new transport corridor that can establish a direct connection with China, will be carried out by the country at its own expense.
In order to increase alternative routes around Bishkek city and regulate traffic congestion, a plan to expand old narrow two-lane roads is being developed and implemented. As a result, the construction of the first six-lane highway is being actively resumed, and two-level road junctions are being built. It is worth noting that the Lebedinovka-GES 5, Bishkek-Kant, and Bishkek-Kuntu-Shopokov highways are undergoing reconstruction.
