91% of girls in Kyrgyzstan receive HPV vaccine

Bishkek, April 22, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated regional leadership in cervical cancer prevention, achieving 91% vaccination coverage against the human papillomavirus (HPV) among 11-year-old girls, Deputy Minister of Health Gulbara Ishenapysova tol at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.

According to her, since the vaccine's introduction into the national immunization schedule, 258,985 girls across the country have already been vaccinated. The deputy minister emphasized that such high rates and success in protecting women's health were made possible by effective, long-term collaboration with key international partners, including the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), the World Health Organization, and UNICEF.
