Bishkek, June 3, 2026. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, 95% of children suffer from tooth decay. MP Dastan Bekeshev expressed his concern at Jogorku Kenesh.

The parliamentarian called this statistic critical and called for a review of the approach to developing children's menus in educational institutions.

"This is a very large, sad figure. Ministry of Health provides this data. One of the main reasons is poor nutrition. But where are these eating habits formed? "Mostly in kindergartens and schools. Look at what our children eat! Think about it again: 95%. Our little ones in kindergartens literally eat sugar everywhere. It's added to everything—to juices, to diary products, to porridge, to buns, and sometimes even to soup. This sugar is everywhere," the deputy fumed.
