Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2026. /Kabar/. The national forum "Data and Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" is taking place in Bishkek today, marking International Data Protection Day.
The forum has become an important platform for discussing pressing issues of personal data protection, digital and information security in the context of the rapid development of AI and digital services.
The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov. He emphasized that the state is currently obliged to ensure special protection of citizens' personal data.
"Despite the fact that we are implementing comprehensive digitalization, this data must be under enhanced state protection. I am concerned about the security of personal data in government databases. In the digital age, we cannot protect information as easily as a locked door. For example, for the convenience of citizens, we are digitizing even medical records, and here the level of security must be as high as possible," Baisalov noted.
The forum brings together representatives from government agencies, businesses, the IT sector, international experts, and civil society. Participants will present reports on measures to ensure the privacy of personal information in the context of the rapid development of AI technologies.
