Bishkek, June 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan continues to strengthen its position on the international tourism map.
During meeting, Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzstan Airports JSC, and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates discussed the prospects for expanding air service between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE, as well as new opportunities for developing the country's tourism potential.
One of the key issues at the talks was the launch of a direct flight from Sharjah to Issyk-Kul (Tamchy village) for the 2026 summer tourist season. The parties are currently working on the parameters of the future flight program, including the start date and frequency of flights.
The opening of this route is expected to significantly increase tourist flow from the Persian Gulf countries to the shores of Issyk-Kul lake, the pearl of Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan's unique natural beauty, mountain resorts, national culture, and outdoor recreation opportunities will become even more accessible to guests from the UAE and other countries in the region.
Furthermore, the negotiations are underway to launch direct flights between Sharjah and Karakol for the 2026-2027 winter tourism season. This new flight could be important step in promoting Kyrgyzstan's ski tourism internationally and open up additional opportunities for attracting foreign tourists to the Issyk-Kul region during the winter.
International airlines' interest in Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. The development of airport infrastructure, the modernization of the country's airports, and the expansion of the route network are creating new opportunities for tourists, businesses, and the strengthening of international ties.
