Bishkek, Dec. 19, 2025. /Kabar/. The roundtable discussion on air quality was held in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision reports.

According to the ministry, the roundtable, chaired by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Asel Raimkulova, was held jointly with the Regional Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia, with technical support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The discussion focused on "Analysis of Legal Regulation and Mechanisms for Air Quality Management in Kyrgyzstan."

The event included analytical review of the current legislative and institutional framework for air protection, as well as mechanisms for implementing the human right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. "The review is based on analysis of national legislation, strategic documents, the Kyrgyz Republic's international obligations, and recommendations from the WHO, UNEP, and other international organizations," the statement says.

In addition, the main goal of the roundtable was to discuss the results of the review and identify priority recommendations for further improvement of legislation and air quality management mechanisms.
