Athletes from Kyrgyzstan win gold medal in ballroom dancing in France

Bishkek, Nov. 12, 2025. /Kabar/. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan won gold in ballroom dancing in France, Sergey Titunin, President of the Kyrgyz National Dance Sport Federation said.

According to him, the annual international ballroom dancing tournament, held under the auspices of the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF), took place on November 9, 2025, in Pontault-Combault, near Paris, France. The competition brought together some of Europe's strongest dancers, including participants from France, Italy, Romania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and other countries.

Kyrgyzstan was represented at the prestigious tournament by Vladimir Vyrleev and Maria Proshletsova, a dance couple from the Kyrgyz Republic Dance Sport Federation. The athletes competed in the WDSF Open – Adults, Latin Under 21 category and demonstrated a high level of skill, technique, and artistry.

"Following the competition, the couple from Kyrgyzstan confidently took first place, winning gold medals and bringing the country a well-deserved victory," said Titunin.

Furthermore, the tournament also included the WDSF International Open – Adults, Latin, where Vyrleev and Proshletsova reached the finals and placed fourth among 31 couples from around the world. This is a remarkable result, confirming the high level of training of Kyrgyzstani dancers.
