Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2026. /Kabar/. Baku hosted the second international conference of leading national think tanks from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), with Azamat Toshev, Head of Department at the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), in attendance, according to UzA.
The conference was jointly organized with the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the OTS Secretariat.
Mr. Toshev delivered a presentation entitled “Innovation for sustainable development: policy frameworks and economic transformation”, in which he outlined promising areas for developing economic cooperation within the OTS. These included digital trade and the creation of a unified digital economic ecosystem, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on economic transformation and human capital.
The expert highlighted President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative to establish a strategic artificial intelligence cooperation network within the OTS, noting that this area remains a priority.
The OTS also held a Technology Forum focused on developing cross-border innovation, creating shared digital infrastructure, and integrating the startup ecosystems of OTS member states into a single regional market.
Concluding his remarks, Azamat Toshev emphasized the need to join efforts to launch strategically important interregional projects, improve transport-route efficiency, and promote the mutual integration of digital solutions.
