Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek and the Chinese city of Changsha discussed prospects for inter-municipal cooperation, including the implementation of a project to build an eco-technological plant for the disposal of municipal solid waste and the generation of electricity, according to the Bishkek Mayor’s Oofice.
Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev met with a delegation from Changsha led by Zhou Ming, a member of the Standing Committee of the Changsha Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Working Committee of the Hunan Provincial Pilot Free Trade Zone.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to urban management, environmental protection, infrastructure development, and the implementation of investment projects.
Particular attention was paid to the construction of an eco-technological plant in Bishkek for the disposal of municipal solid waste and the generation of electricity. It is being implemented with the participation of the Chinese company Junxin, based in Changsha. The parties expressed interest in further expanding practical cooperation, including through the establishment of sister-city relations.
Following the meeting, Aibek Dzhunushaliev presented Zhou Ming with a letter of gratitude for his contribution to the development of inter-municipal relations, the implementation of joint initiatives in urban management and environmental protection, and his efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two cities.
