Bishkek, July 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek First Deputy Mayor Kubanychbek Imanaliev, together with Bishkek City Administration's Department of Urban Economy, met with a delegation from Changsha (China), led by Duan Haibo, Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Changsha People's Government.
Bishkek's First Deputy Mayor noted the capital's interest in expanding international cooperation and emphasized that establishing sister-city relations will be an important step toward strengthening friendly ties, developing mutually beneficial partnerships, and implementing joint projects.
For their part, representatives from the city of Changsha praised the positive changes taking place in Bishkek, noting the dynamic development of urban infrastructure and ongoing improvement work in the capital, and expressed their readiness to develop long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the development of urban economy, landscaping, greening, and environmental protection.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the digitalization of municipal governance, the implementation of smart city technologies, urban infrastructure development, and investment cooperation.
The parties confirmed their interest in exchanging best practices and implementing joint initiatives in these areas.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further collaboration to establish sister-city relations between Bishkek and Changsha, as well as to expand practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
