Bishkek, Aug 7, 2026 /Kabar/. On August 6, cities of Bishkek and Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) signed the Agreement on the Establishment of Friendly Relations.
The ceremony took place as part of the VIII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum and the XII Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference.
The agreement was signed by Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev and Nizhny Novgorod Mayor Yuri Shalabaev.
First Deputy Mayor Kubanychbek Imanaliev participated in the official ceremony to exchange documents from the Bishkek City Hall. The ceremony took place in Bosteri, Issyk-Kul region.
The agreement aims to strengthen direct ties between the cities and develop mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, educational, tourism, and other areas.
The document will serve as the basis for further exchange of experience, the implementation of joint initiatives, and expanded cooperation between municipal authorities, institutions, and the business communities of the two cities.
The VIII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum and the XII Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference is being held on August 5–7, 2026, under the overall theme "Strategic Partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Russia: Priorities 2030."
