Bishkek, July 29, 2026 /Kabar/. On July 29, Bishkek held roundtable discussion with interdepartmental working group to discuss the draft Plan for Poverty Reduction and Employment Promotion in Kyrgyzstan through 2030. Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration reports.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and the expert community.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Mirlan Baigonchokov noted that the document will become a key instrument of state policy for improving the population's standard of living.
He stated that poverty reduction should be based not only on social support measures but also on the creation of new, high-quality jobs, the development of entrepreneurship, increased labor productivity, and the expansion of economic opportunities for citizens.
According to the National Statistical Committee, by the end of 2025, the poverty rate in Kyrgyzstan will have decreased to 24%, a 1.7 percentage point decrease from the previous year.
It is noted that the program's priority areas include developing employment in the regions, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, creating new jobs, and improving state policy on labor migration and the reintegration of citizens returning to the domestic labor market.
Following the roundtable discussion, the participants' proposals will be taken into account when finalizing the draft Program for Poverty Reduction and Employment Promotion in Kyrgyz Republic until 2030.
The department clarified that the work of the interdepartmental working group is being carried out in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' protocol instructions issued to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, and the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
