Bishkek, Nov. 12, 2025. /Kabar/. A scientific and practical conference, "Diabetes Mellitus: A Challenge to Modern Medicine," is being held in Bishkek to mark World Diabetes Day.
The event brought together leading endocrinologists, experts from the World Health Organization, representatives of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), the scientific community, and practicing physicians from Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
According to Natalia Dobrynina, a freelance endocrinologist at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health and chief physician of the Endocrinology Center, the conference is held annually and attracts specialists from across the country. She noted that similar conferences are being held in the regions. Various patient events on diabetes education, monitoring, and early detection are also taking place.
"The goal of this day is to educate people about diabetes, as it is a 'silent killer' that develops stealthily, and in many cases, people discover it too late," she added.
The conference will discuss modern approaches to diabetes treatment, complication prevention, new monitoring technologies, and insulin therapy.
