Bishkek, July 27, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, the Ala-Archa State Residence in Bishkek hosts the Forum of Media and Analytical Centers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States.
Approximately 250 representatives from 26 countries participate in the event.
The forum's theme is "The SCO in a New Era: From Mutual Understanding to Practical Cooperation."
The forum is being organized by the Kyrgyz National News Agency "Kabar" and the Chinese news agency "Xinhua."
This is the first time the forum is being held in Bishkek. It will be attended by the heads of major news agencies from SCO member states, observer countries, and dialogue partners, as well as representatives of leading media outlets, think tanks, and research institutes.
In addition, representatives of government agencies, heads of national news agencies, international media holdings, television and radio companies, print and electronic media, the expert and academic community, the diplomatic corps, and international organizations have been invited to the forum.
Representing Kyrgyzstan, Ulan Mamatkanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers; Daiyrbek Orunbekov, Head of the Information Policy Service of the Presidential Administration; Arslan Koichiev, Secretary of State; Mirbek Mambetaliyev, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy; and heads of domestic media outlets, higher education institutions, and think tanks participate.
During plenary sessions and thematic discussions, participants will discuss the role of media and think tanks in strengthening trust between states, the development of international information cooperation, the digital transformation of the media environment, humanitarian interaction, and contemporary challenges in the global information space.
