Bishkek, Aug. 13, 2026 /Kabar/. On August 11, a meeting between Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Zheng Wu took place at Bishkek City Hall.
According to city hall, the parties discussed the current status and future prospects of the urban transport electrification project.
The meeting discussed Component 3, the creation of a pilot green mobility corridor, planned for implementation in 2027, and Component 4, aimed at improving the sustainability of bus transport. The necessary documentation for both areas has been prepared and is being finalized jointly with ADB.
Zheng Wu noted ADB's interest in continuing cooperation with Bishkek and announced plans to extend the project until 2029. This will ensure the implementation of the planned activities, including new components.
ADB also proposed considering the development of a new urban mobility project. In turn, the Bishkek mayor's office proposed developing solar energy projects, including installing solar panels on city infrastructure.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working together to develop urban mobility, green transport, and green energy.
