Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2026 /Kabar/. Masuda Aidarbekova, Deputy Mayor of Osh, met with the Brazilian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Marcel Fortuna Biato.
According to the city administration, the meeting focused on developing trade and economic ties, attracting investment, and fostering cooperation in agriculture, education, energy, and modern technologies.
Regarding agriculture, the parties discussed opportunities for implementing modern technologies, exchanging expertise, and establishing local production of agricultural machinery. It was also noted that Brazilian entrepreneurs would participate in an agricultural exhibition scheduled for October in Astana and have expressed interest in setting up production facilities in Kyrgyzstan. In the education sector, the issue of expanding student participation in international projects and cooperation within the Enactus movement was raised.
The discussions in the energy sector focused on sharing Brazil's expertise in hydropower and the efficient use of water resources, as well as cooperation in irrigation. Additionally, proposals were made to attract Brazilian investment to the city of Osh and to implement joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
