Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat in Beijing, Kyrgyz Ambassador to China Aktilek Musaeva and SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbaev held a briefing following the SCO Summit held in Bishkek on August 31 - September 1 of this year.

According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions of SCO member states in China, representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, permanent representatives of SCO member states to the SCO Secretariat, and representatives of the SCO Secretariat.

SCO Secretary-General Yermekbaev opened the briefing, informing those present about the results of the SCO Summit and Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the Organization for 2025-2026.

Ambassador Aktilek Musaeva informed the briefing participants about a number of events held and Kyrgyzstan's priorities during its SCO chairmanship, focusing on the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the SCO Heads of State Council meeting held in Bishkek. She also highlighted the Organization's challenges in various areas.

Musaeva focused on Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028 and recent state and official visits by foreign leaders to Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz ambassador also informed those present about the Sixth World Nomad Games, held in Kyrgyzstan in early September.

Furthermore, the head of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission noted that the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25" will be held in Kyrgyzstan in October 2027 and invited Kyrgyzstan's partners to actively participate in this important event.

At the end of her speech, the ambassador wished a successful presidency of the SCO to the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, H. Hashmi, who also delivered a speech in his capacity as the country holding the presidency of the Organization in 2026-2027.
