Bishkek. July 31, 2026 /Kabar/. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov for the hospitality and high level of organization of the informal consultative meeting of heads of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan.
In his speech, the head of Turkmenistan conveyed warm greetings and wishes for success from the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Kyrgyz side on the opening of new facilities on the shores of Issyk-Kul lake, noting that the modern infrastructure will not only beautify the lakeshore but will also provide a powerful impetus for the development of the tourism potential of the entire region.
The president of Turkmenistan also welcomed the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the meeting.
He announced that the next consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan will be held in Turkmenistan's Avaza National Tourist Zone on October 8.
He stated that Turkmenistan is responsibly preparing for this event and is taking all necessary measures to ensure the summit is held at a high substantive and organizational level.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that a draft agenda, including five main areas, was sent to the meeting participants.
These include an exchange of views on pressing regional and international issues of peace, stability, and security; further strengthening political and diplomatic interaction between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan; developing trade and economic cooperation; expanding cooperation in the energy sector; and developing sustainable transport and logistics corridors.
The agenda also includes joint measures to protect the environment and adapt to climate change; rational use of the water resources of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers; coordination of efforts to restore the Aral Sea; and the development of cultural, educational, and scientific ties, as well as expanding student and youth exchanges.
"We proceed from the premise that all the proposed topics are relevant and significant for our countries," the President of Turkmenistan noted.
He also emphasized that a number of international forums and cultural events will be held in Avaza during the preparations for and the summit.
"I am confident that, as before, our countries are interested in and will responsibly approach the organization and holding of such international meetings," Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
Concluding his speech, the President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the heads of state for their constructive commitment to developing cooperation.
