Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and its removal from the European Union's aviation safety blacklist have increased the republic's international prestige. Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration told Kabar.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that a great deal of work had been done prior to Kyrgyzstan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
"To achieve this, we competed with the Philippines. We held negotiations with other countries. During my working trips abroad, I also met with representatives of various countries where possible. We met and sought support from countries in Africa and Latin America. The countries of Central Asia, which acted as a united front, also helped. Thanks to this, we also achieved victory. This brought us great joy. We felt a sense of pride,” shared Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The head of the Cabinet also reported that, to remove Kyrgyzstan from the blacklist, Kyrgyzstan renovated airports, purchased new aircraft, and legislation was brought into line with international requirements.
“Kyrgyz government did great deal of work in this area. Numerous commissions visited us and conducted assessments. As a result, the country was removed from the blacklist. The fact that we have achieved such significant success at the international level has become known throughout the world,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev.
