The 9th CAREC Think Tank Development Forum, under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, was recently held in Ürümqi, China, UzA reports.

Employees of the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies (IMRS) under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan also took part in the event.

Nodira Jabborova, a leading specialist at IMRS, actively participated in the forum and presented new initiatives to develop the CAREC Think Tank Network (CTTN).

“Cooperation among Central Asian countries should not be limited to improving economic indicators alone. By widely introducing innovation and green finance mechanisms, we must ensure sustainable and environmentally friendly development. The CTTN network serves as an important platform in this direction and expands opportunities for experience sharing among member states”, she stated.

The sessions focused on in-depth discussions of topics including innovative financing models, green bank initiatives, sustainable lending practices, and climate finance.

Following the event, a set of recommendations and proposals was developed to expand cooperation, introduce new financial mechanisms, and support environmentally sustainable projects.

Additionally, within the framework of the forum, the Tianshan Forum for Central Asia Economic Cooperation was held in Ürümqi. It was dedicated to strengthening regional economic integration and advancing cooperation in transport, trade, and investment.

Another significant outcome was the opening of the Central Asia Financial Cooperation Research Center. According to experts, the new center will play an essential role in expanding financial cooperation among member states and improving the regional investment climate.
