Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2026 /Kabar/. The closing ceremony of the Center-2026 joint tactical exercise was held on August 17 at the training center of military unit 20636, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defense reports.
According to the ministry, the event was attended by exercise director Almazbek Kozhoshev, as well as service members from the Kyrgyz and Russian armed forces.
The exercise took place from August 11 to 17 at the Edelweiss training ground. Approximately 500 service members participated, utilizing up to 100 pieces of weapons and military equipment, as well as combat FPV drones and army aviation from both countries.
Following the practical exercises, the exercise leadership summarized the results and assessed the performance of the personnel. "The exercises demonstrated high level of professional training of the military personnel, the cohesion of the units, and the effective interaction between the military contingents of the two countries," the statement says.
The tasks assigned during the Center-2026 joint tactical exercise were fully accomplished.
Following the ceremony, the military personnel who distinguished themselves in fulfilling their assigned tasks were awarded medals and valuable gifts.
