Central Asia media conference kicks off in Bishkek

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2026 /Kabar/. The 26th Central Asia Media Conference, organized by the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media has begun in Bishkek. Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy reports.

More than 120 representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the event, which is being held under the theme "Building Shared Reality: Information Authenticity, Media Ethics, and Trust in the Digital Age." Participants include representatives from government agencies, the media, civil society, and academia, as well as international experts.

The conference addresses issues such as media freedom, journalistic ethics, combating disinformation, fostering media literacy, and strengthening public trust.

The media conference aims to facilitate the exchange of experience, discuss pressing issues in the media sector, and develop joint approaches to strengthening a unified information space in Central Asia.
