Bishkek, Aug. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Starting August 20, Kyrgyz citizens can enter China visa-free for up to 10 days, Sagynbek Abdumutalip, foreign policy department head form presidential administration of Kyrgyzstan reports, citing information from the state administration for migration of China.
As Sagynbek Abdumutalip explained, visa-free entry to China for up to 10 days requires only one condition: a plane ticket confirming that the return journey to Kyrgyzstan will pass through a third country.
"If a Kyrgyz citizen wishes to visit Beijing, Shanghai, or another Chinese city visa-free, they only need to purchase a direct flight to the chosen city and a return ticket to Kyrgyzstan with a route through one of the third countries.
For example, the following routes can be used: Shanghai - Almaty - Bishkek or Beijing - Tashkent - Osh. Upon entering China, they can fly directly to one of the 65 destinations listed.
Furthermore, China has allowed Kyrgyz citizens visa-free entry to Hainan Island for up to 30 days. Therefore, Kyrgyz citizens no longer need to pay visa fees, gather documents for a visa, or waste time visiting the consulate.
It's worth noting that China is unilaterally introducing a 10-day visa-free regime for Kyrgyz citizens. Chinese citizens, as before, require a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan. Before allowing citizens of another country visa-free entry, states conduct a comprehensive analysis of that country.
We believe that in making this decision, the Chinese side took into account the high level of bilateral cooperation, the results of reforms, the security and socio-political stability in Kyrgyzstan, economic growth, and the established, full control over the production of state documents. I am confident that this measure will create conditions for the development of cooperation in trade and tourism," concluded Sagynbek Abdumutalip.
