The Kyrgyz side accorded Chinese President Xi Jinping a reception of the highest level, demonstrating the strength of bilateral relations and the depth of friendship between the two countries. Liu Jianping, the Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, said at a briefing following the state visit.
She noted that she accompanied the Chinese leader throughout the visit and highlighted, in particular, the ceremonial welcome at Manas Airport.
"Kyrgyz young women welcomed President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, with *boorsok* and honey, in accordance with national traditions. A particularly heartwarming moment for the Chinese side was the performance of the Chinese song 'Smile' by Kyrgyz children. They also presented President Xi Jinping and his wife with a plush snow leopard—the official mascot of the 6th World Nomad Games," said Liu Jianping.
She also noted that the Chinese leader's motorcade was accompanied by an honorary motorcycle escort through the streets of Bishkek, and that the official welcoming ceremony took place on August 31 at the Yntymak Ordo administrative complex.
"An atmosphere of sincere warmth and deep respect for the distinguished Chinese guests pervaded the entire tarmac." "These protocol events not only demonstrated the high level of organization and hospitality shown by the Kyrgyz side but also vividly attested to the depth of the friendship between Kyrgyzstan and China. The Chinese side is sincerely grateful to the Kyrgyz side for the warm welcome and is deeply touched by the friendship and hospitality displayed during the visit," the ambassador emphasized.
Furthermore, the head of the diplomatic mission noted that the leaders of the two countries held an informal meeting over dinner that same day.
"During the informal dinner, the leaders of the two countries engaged in a candid conversation, discussing pressing issues of bilateral cooperation as well as key topics for the upcoming official events," the ambassador added.
