Bishkek, Aug 3, 2026 /Kabar/. The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will become a key factor in the country's economic development, ensuring increased transit traffic, creating new jobs, and expanding export opportunities for domestic products. Azamat Sakiev, General Director of "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" (Kyrgyzstan's railways) told Birinchi Radio.
According to him, the project's implementation will significantly increase rail traffic volumes and transform Kyrgyzstan into an important transit hub in the region.
He emphasized that the railway will connect Kyrgyzstan to international transport corridors, opening up new markets for domestic producers.
"Europe, the Persian Gulf countries, India, Turkmenistan, and other destinations will open up for our products. Kyrgyzstan will become part of major international logistics chains, and domestic goods will be able to more quickly reach the global market," the company head noted.
According to him, the construction of the railway will stimulate not only the public but also the private sector.
Logistics centers, warehouse complexes, hubs, and stations are planned to be developed along the railway. In total, approximately 25 stations are planned along the route, around which new jobs and related businesses will be created—retail, catering, service businesses, and parking lots.
Special attention, Sakiev noted, was paid to the route's passage through Kyrgyzstan's regions.
"Initially, a shorter route through the country was proposed. However, we ensured that the project encompassed as many regions of Kyrgyzstan as possible, as this is what will provide economic benefits to the population," he emphasized.
One of the largest facilities will be the Makmal station, where a large loading and unloading hub is planned.
According to the head of the company, a large economic zone with retail space, warehouses, and logistics facilities could eventually develop here, becoming a growth hub for businesses and the region's economy.
Sakiev noted that the project's strategic importance will become clear once construction is completed.
