Maksat Chakiev, president of Central Asian International Chamber of Commerce spoke at the plenary session of the SCO Media and Analytical Centers Forum in Bishkek, where he presented initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation among the organization's member states.
In his speech, he noted that in today's environment, political trust must be transformed into sustainable economic mechanisms that promote trade, investment, and transport connectivity.
According to Chakiev, the global economy is facing growing instability: supply chains are becoming more vulnerable, trade restrictions are increasing, and traditional routes are losing their former reliability. In this context, trust between states is becoming a crucial factor in economic development.
The president of Central Asian International Chamber of Commerce also proposed exploring the concept of creating a Central Economic Space, which would unite the transport corridors, production chains, energy systems, and financial mechanisms of the region's countries and partners.
He initiated the creation of SCO International Chamber of Commerce and Investment. According to Chakiev, the new structure could unite national and regional chambers of commerce, business associations, and companies from SCO member states, becoming a permanent platform for coordinating trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
"SCO International Chamber of Commerce should become a practical and operational platform for business interaction and the promotion of joint economic projects," emphasized Maksat Chakiev.
He also stated the readiness of the Central Asian International Chamber of Commerce to initiate the creation of such a permanent cooperation mechanism.
