Bishkek, Feb. 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Particular attention is being paid to the early detection of oncological diseases, Nurbek Bukuev, director of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology told Kabar.

He noted that according to general statistics, the number of patients has not changed on average.

"In 2008, the population of Kyrgyzstan was 5 million, but now it has exceeded 7 million. Due to the increase in the population, the number of patients is also growing. This phenomenon is also observed in world statistics and applies not only to oncological diseases, but also to other diseases," he said.

Bukuev noted that the statement that “the oncology center is not working” is incorrect.

“According to the data of the Statistics Committee, the number of diseases has not increased. On average, the indicators of previous years are still maintained. The conditions for diagnosing the disease and diagnosing are changing. As a result, the disease is being detected at an early stage, and the number of patients seems to be increasing. Now the center is paying special attention to detecting the disease at an early stage. This is their main goal,” he said.
