Bishkek, July 2, 2026 /Kabar/. On July 1, eco-activist and founder of the Taza Karma Foundation, Andrey Panaev, arrived in Bishkek, completing a walking environmental campaign dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and greening.
As part of the campaign, Andrey Panaev carried a pine sapling on foot from Karakol to Bishkek. He covered 388 kilometers in nine days. After arriving, the activist underwent a medical examination, after which the participants traveled by environmentally friendly transport to the site of an eco-technological plant for processing municipal solid waste and generating electricity, where he met Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev.
During the event, a pine sapling and other closed-root trees were planted. A commemorative plaque with a QR code containing information about the environmental campaign and its goals was installed near the tree. Following the ceremony, a discussion was held on environmental protection, the development of environmental awareness, and the implementation of urban greening projects.
According to the department, Andrei Panaev is originally from Kazan, Russia. He said that while traveling around various countries, he decided to choose Kyrgyzstan as his destination. He met his wife there, started a family, and currently resides in Karakol.
